Sara is an expert in functional materials focused on optical applications. Her expertise ranges from nanophotonics, plasmonics and metasurface theory to solar cells, clean room processing, polymer science and colloid chemistry. She has a PhD in Materials Science from the UAM-CSIC followed by a 5-year postdoctoral experience in the United Kingdom (Exeter & Bristol). Since 2017 she is a Senior Researcher in the Functional NanoBioMaterials Group of the University of Vigo where she leads the line of research in molecular nanophotonics. She is currently a collaborating member of CINBIO and Assistant Researcher at the University of Minho.
