Photosynthesis: a lecture of Quantum Physics
Quantum biology seeks to explain how living organisms utilize quantum physics for specialized tasks, such as for example the geographic orientation of birds, or the energy transportation in the photosynthesis. In the latter, the absorbed energy by molecules that compose the photosynthetic complex is transferred with 100% efficiency to the reaction center, where its chemical reactions are triggered. In this talk, I will share how we can use quantum physics happening in photosynthesis for the development of more efficient photonic and energy harvesting technology.
